Abstract. This paper presents a reduced model to describe the nonlinear dynamic behavior of Stockbridge dampers. The proposed is based on classic Bouc-Wen hysteretic law and requires identification small number parameters. formulation used within an extended version Energy Balance Method assess role damper nonlinearities in mitigating aeolian vibrations reference overhead transmission line.
